Statement of Intent (finished)

  • Parkour video at night with contrasting scenes of Cameron with his girlfriend and trying to decide who he wants to spend time with.
  • Cinematic shots / first person / low angle / Camera moves around the person and, on the beat, skips around then.
  • Actor looks to camera whilst singing and jogging backwards then turns around away from the camera.
  • Will be in time with the music for nearly all of the video
  • Door transition where actor opens a door either a fire exit or other and changes location.
  • Song starts with tinny music and when the actor turns up the radio when Khalid stats singing at 0:12 the music becomes clear and is put in post production.
  • The first main beat drop is at 1:07 and that will either be when the actor lands or a explosion/fire/lights turn on, basically something significant and not something slow. But what I could do it slow it down just as it comes up to the drop and then show the actual jump again but in real time.
  • I will be using slo motion in times especially when the actor is in the air or running.
  • The song is 3 minutes so my video will probably be just over that for credits and intro.
  • Through out the video I will have the actors singing the lyrics in a casual way as if they are telling it to the camera.
  • I will also have scenes in the intro where the actor picks ur their keys of of the table and then goes to their car and starts the engine and drives of and picks up their friend.

  • The mise en scene will be regular, dark and loose fitting clothes. The actors can also wear clothes that cover their face for the dark parkour scenes. But they will need to have their mouth exposed at some point to they can lip-sync.
  • In the light day scenes the actors will be wearing more light clothes.
  • I will use natural lighting. with very little lighting and possibly phone torches.
  • I will have circling shots, a few establishing shots, first person POV shots using my GoPro as well.

This will fit into the genre because a lot of EDM music videos are to the beat and because the song is more chilled I thought it would fit the aesthetic for the video to be at night. The main thing with most EDM music videos is aesthetics and if the video looks cinematic and is in time with the music that is a great start.
